Deep Space at first feels unfair. The gameplay is tough and in the beginning, you’ll end up seeing the game over screen more than you like. The more frustrating it is, the more you just want to throw your phone. Then, you buy a weapon or ugrade your existing one and when you die, you notice something that the developers either forgot to sayvor wanted you to find out, whatever you buy or upgrade stays. You can level up your weapons buy more and they are permanent. It’s a little thing that helps bring me back more and more. Then, while running down a corridor, a zombie came up, full speed. I gunned him down but as I approached him, he blew up, taking out a giant chunk of the map. What was i going to do? I could never make that jump! The games being unfair again!... but then, as i was testing the jump button before i made my leap of faith, I found out you can double jump. Again something else the devs failed to mention. Deep Space may or may not be the game your looking for. Its levels are randomized. Its weapon placements are too. The enemies are ruthless and each of them are trying to kill you. Often times, this game will throw two enemies at you and they’ll back you into a corner, making you fight for your life but you have to realize something, this is not a runn an gunner. You don’t rush through these levels. Its not a platformer either. Its akin more to Dark Souls in a sense. Difficulty spikes where patience and level reading are the keys to this game. If your trying to run through the levels, your in for some bad news, this game is endless. Slow down, take your time and in the end you’ll grow to appreciate the difficulties of Deep Space and it will grow on you.
